Holy ship.

This is as tone deaf a decision as you can possibly make.

I was dismissive of the idea they are trying to lay a path to move the team to Vegas... but if I wanted to pull a "Major League" and kill local support for my team so I could move, I'd do exactly what the Mavs are doing.

Realistically, Dallas is the only team the Suns can catch to get into the play-in. The Suns are a blazing dumpster fire now, though, and I'd rather them miss and blow the whole forking thing up. Would be way cooler if Portland snuck in and took Dallas' place.

Portland is something like 16-5 in its last 21 games, beating up on mostly deadbeats, but they took Cleveland to OT Sunday after leading most of the game. Play-in would be the ultimate have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too scenario because they would get to remain in the draft lottery.
