2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season Running Thread

No, it sucks both directions. Also, having to stop in West Memphis is a nightmare because it has the most confusing set of on/off ramps and service roads you can imagine. It looks like somebody's first day playing Sim City.

Gang, I-95 remains the gold standard for forked traffic on interstates. From Maine to Miami, it sucks.
Of course. There's a good reason why folks from my neck of the woods will bypash all of that mess when going to New England by taking the western route, going up through Gettysburg before eventually connecting to 81 heading northeast. The tolls alone are enough to go out of the way, even if it's more miles.

Once you get south of Petersburg, Va. on 95, it's incredibly dull until you hit the Florida line.

Another bad thing among many about I-40 from Memphihell to Lil'Rock is the expansion gaps on the road.

"tock/tock" every time your tires go over them. Over and over and over again.

I-30 from LR to Texarkana ain't a glory ride, either. Reminds me of I-65 from the Gump to Atmore.

I-30 in Arkansas is a lot better than it used to be. They've done a lot of work to make it smoother. What I hate is they've cleared most of the trees out of the center reservation south of Exit 63 and it's changed the character of the freeway, for worse IMO.

I avoid I-40 between Memphis and Little Rock like the plague, to the extent that I'll take side roads instead.

I'm not sure if it was "expansion gaps" or something else, but on I-40 eastbound around Sevierville my wheels hit some big gap and caused more than $700 worth of damage. An appeal to the TDOT was denied because I could not prove it was negligence on their part.
