2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Class

The class. I'm surprised Mark Few didn't make it.

North American Committee:
2008 USA Basketball Men's Olympic Team
Carmelo Anthony
Danny Crawford
Billy Donovan
Dwight Howard

Women's Committee:
Sue Bird
Sylvia Fowles
Maya Moore

Contributor's Committee:

Micky Arison

Dwight Howard? Not even for the Hall of Pretty Good.

If you didn't know it was Dwight Howard, this is a Hall of Fame resume:

8-time All-Star

3-time Defensive Player of Year

5-time first-team All-NBA

1-time second-team All-NBA

2-time third team All-NBA

4-time first-team All-Defensive Team

1-time second-team All-Defensive

10th all-time in rebounds / 15th all-time in blocks / 35th

Has a ring / made another Finals

Dwight Howard seems to have been disliked by a lot of his teammates and he hung around for so long when his skills had diminished that it obscures his legacy. He was an absolute beast of a player for a long time and is HOF worthy.

As a Knicks fan, Melo is a big step down from Howard. He was a very skilled scorer but not so skilled as to make up for the fact that he never made his teammates or team better. The title with the Orangemen probably helps him more than any other recent player in terms of his qualification as a first ballot inductee.
