Could we please have more pictures of guys from lowly, unranked teams shooting and driving to the basket? Don't bother submitting pictures of players from actual Top 25 teams. Who wants those?

With actual papers continuing to cut to the bone I would think the AP should be doing well and be even more essential. I don't know how, but while papers have been cutting and cutting for a decade now, they've also managed to cut back on their AP subscriptions, too. This, of course, caused the venerable news service to be in the same cutting mode that newspapers are in. I still can't make sense of this.

The turnaround on AP copy for the NHL is awful this season. Even 7 p.m. games are lucky to get the first few graphs in.
And lots more errors recently. Have they recently made cuts?

I know they had a round of cuts a few years back. Now they cut more by attrition.

Milwaukee had two guys (both working easily more than 40 hours between Packers, Bucks, Brewers, Marquette, UW and UW-Milwaukee). Colin Fly left for the bureau job in Louisville (I think) and was never replaced. (Not too long after that, Fly left AP altogether)

That meant Chris Jenkins was putting in 60 hour weeks, so he wised up and found a job with Marquette University. Then they went nearly a year on all stringers, all the time before finally hiring Genaro Armas. They now give stringers a byline.

They had a rule that staffers have to all NFL games and CBB games involving AP Top 25 teams. They relaxed that rule, but Nancy Armour was sent from Chicago to all the Packer home games and the Bucks' playoff games in April of 2013. I can't help but wonder if that was why she left for USA Today.

An AP Sports job in a decent city used to be a destination job. That Fly and Jenkins bailed tells you a lot.

Thai people are some of the most gentle folk around.
Yes, they have muay thai in their culture. But when not in the ring, the fighters are serene. Now, as for China, that freaking dumpfest of a shithole, they dress badly like those bar types and walk around in flip-flops.
Except these aren't crocs, but the cheap-ash two strands holding the entire slipper together.
