2025 NFL offseason thread

Favre with the Jets was a good thing for about 12 weeks. They were 8-3 and absolutely smoked the 10-0 Titans in their house.

Then Favre had to start showing his deck to every brunette in the city.

He hurt his throwing arm, which is why they spiraled.

The difference is Rodgers wanted to be there. Favre insisted he didn't want to retire and weasel his way to Minnesota but was just a simple country boy who loved playing football dagummit. The images of him holding that green and white jersey at his introductory press conference look like a hostage holding the current day's newspaper.

With Rodgers at this point, he either wants to play or he doesn't. I'd figure after the Jests last year, he'd look forward to going out on his own terms. He's well north of $200m in career earnings.

Rodgers will do whatever gets him attention and prestige.

Minnesota? Did they learn nothing from Favre?

I keep seeing conflicting reports. Some say they are concerned about McCarthy's recovery and will sign Favre, Jr. The others say they are all in on McCarthy, so they don't want Rodgers in the way.

Maybe this is all Rodgers and/or his agent trying to squeeze a few more million out of the Steelers. o_O
