Deceptively dark movie endings

The ending of Last American Virgin was not what anyone expected considering all of the other '80s high school flicks.

I was all set to post that yesterday . . . then decided, "well, there's nothing deceptive about it, like a bunch of happy people as the film ends awaiting a world full of misery you don't see."

I still had the post sitting in the reply window, waiting to send.

There was a silly 1980s comedy, "The Last American Virgin," that was stereotypical mindless summer high school flick fare right up to the ending.

In all these movies the star always wins, outsmarts the establishment, gets the girl, etc. But in this one the kid thinks he has won the girl, buys her a birthday gift, goes to her house for a party, and . . . sees her making out with his best friend, who had dumped her after getting her pregnant.

Movie ends with the kid driving home crying to the soundtrack of "Just Once."

Meanwhile, more than you ever want to know about the movie.

Is that the same actress who plays the French exchange student in Better Off Dead?

Certainly looks like her.

Globus and Golam were like the Walt Garrison of movies. Give them $5 million for a movie, they'd get you back $15 million. Give them $30 million, they'd get back you $15 million.

heck of a Tale of the Tape. Which Quaid's movie career would you rather have? And would you rather have a late in life conversion to faith - or fringe lunacy?

Since this thread had a Randy Quaid jack — no pun intended after seeing this — I figured it was the best place to update. I also think we can call this one in favor of Dennis.
