Favorite band/musician you "might" worry others think is uncool

One of the highlights of my career was a one-on-one interview with Go-Gos bass player Kathy Valentine in the community room at a grocery store in Austin. Her memoir had just been published and she was about to go on a book tour that ended up getting axed because of Covid. She was so very nice.
Great doc for those who haven't seen it:

I may have turned the volume up with whenever this song (or other of theirs) came on the radio.

Didn't give a F then in my early 20s, sure as heck don't give a F now 20 years later.

Still break out a few of their CDs every once In awhile.

The Corrs are fantastic. And anybody who dismisses them as pop lightweights does so at their peril. They're tremendous musicians.

No joke. Seen them half a dozen times. They tossed Oz Fox, their bass player a few years back for losing his way (divorce!) but he was replaced by Perry Richardson from Firehouse, another mark of shame for me.

You know, I was thinking of making some kind of "why would I worry what other people think" post... but fork it, man, you just made that impossible. I tip my cap.

I've never been particularly religious, but I always loved Stryper. And of all those '80s glam metal bands who are still putting out stuff, I think they have probably the best material right now.
And just a correction: Oz Fox is the group's lead guitarist. Tim Gaines is the bassist they let go.

One of you people posted you liked the Pina Colada song a while back.

Show yourself.

It wasn't me, but that song is so jacked up I actually kind of like it. The song is catchy in a shallow way to the point of being offensive, but the people are really forked up to each other.

My hot take from here a while back:

The relationship in the song is doomed.

It's built on deception, lies and deceit.

BOTH are looking to step outside their relationship and make the beast with two backs at midnight with a random stranger who likes a shirtty 'tropical' drink and is too stupid to come in from the rain.

Sure, they'll get back together, but then, things will get stale ..

Soon, very soon, they'll be hosting neighborhood gatherings, serving gallons of a shirtty 'tropical' drink, and before you know it car keys are being thrown in a bowl.

All wrapped up in a catchy pop tune to spread this message of deception, lies and deceit to the masses.
