Finding last second mistakes will cost you at this paper

Obviously this went far beyond story play, headline treatment and stuff of that nature - which I'm sure you alluded to long before this and I glossed right over it.

Well, that changes things quite a bit. But I still think the EE/Publisher should have been in on the initial decision if it was that big of an issue. Now, HE sounds unprofessional.
 
You can't just that incident from the outside.
Only Creosote knows all the specifics.
