I stream. You stream. We all stream for…

I get Netflix when the new season of "I Think You Should Leave" drops and then immediately drop it.

Cable. Netflix. Disney+. Paramount (for Picard and all things Trek). Peacock (free). Prime (which I consider free because we easily save that much in shipping). Apple (free for now).

We have Prime, Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, and I think that's it. I mostly have no idea what's on any of them. I just know we have enough services that I can readily access just about anything that pops into my mind.

Nothing for sports, though. Not like I have tons of time to watch even if we did.

We have a lot:

Netflix
Peacock (mostly for EPL)
Paramount+ (mostly for soccer)
ESPN+/Disney/Hulu
HBO Max (through cable)
Amazon Prime
Apple TV+

if I had to cut one, it would be Netflix

We have:

Amazon (had Prime before the network amounted to much, it was a bonus).
Netflix
Hulu Live (includes ESPN)
HBO Max
Disney Plus
Apple TV (got a year free with an Ipad purchase)

Man, wouldn't it make more sense and be easier if they all bundled together for one flat rate to maximize subscribers for the services and give the consumers more choice and bang for their buck…

Aaaaand I've just recreated cable television.

This entire streaming thing is headed right back to where we started.

Through cable ... HBO Max and Peacock
Through a friend ... Netflix, but that may end soon, it seems. It's OK, not a ton I watch there outside of Drive to Survive and Ozark.
Through Spotify ... Hulu (w/commercials)
Amazon Prime

The cable is worth it for the amount of sports I watch. Finally has the darn ACC Network, too.

Cord-cutting was a disaster when it came to watching sports for us. Blackouts on the MLB app for Chicago teams despite living near Ohio, the NBA package costing an arm and a leg, buffering, no access to Sunday Ticket… Add in no access to Disney and Nick Jr. apps and no access to AMC and FX programming without buying even more services and we went back to Direct TV.

I still get the MLB package to watch the Guardians, but it was a pain to rely only on streaming.

YouTube TV, Pluto and Prime (family sharing) is plenty for me. I can't say enough about Pluto for a free service.

And I seem to be able to see most any sporting event I want. Somehow.

An acquaintance with decades in high-end media marketing made a suggestion. Could this work?

I have long maintained that a giant streaming superstore be set up. You can have a digital Netflix aisle, a Disney aisle, a Hulu aisle and and ESPN+ aisle. Think of it as grocery shopping. Many brands in sections and some get the best locations (like P&G). You would browse all of the aisles and simply shop for product. You would have to manage how much you buy, just like at the grocery store. The problem is that all of these media companies are greedy as hell and want all monies for themselves and therefore have little or no interest in being part of a superstore.

Re sports, this is the list on Hulu Live (not simple Hulu). It also gets you your local stations without need for an antenna. Copped this from the Hulu site, obv.
