Live Stream of Supersonic Test Flight

That was cool, I'm all for technological advances but this seems a bit confusing because:

1. The Concorde has previously been supersonic; and
2. This jet was substantially smaller than The Concorde
So is there a lot of ground to make up from where we were before?
 
Privately built plane this time. First one to hit Mach 1, I guess without turning into a flaming mess.

So this was the XB-1 which is a test model that's scaled down. It's basically a tiny version of what the airliner - Boom Overture - will be.
 
And the ramifications of all this are .....

BOOM's private, making the plane the first privately owned supersonic commercial airliner.
