if you have young children, a video worth watching

Ok, what's the point of this? To reinforce their angle, they use video of something you're not supposed to do anyway (by law).
I'm sorry for their loss, but it seems to me as though this is a pointless video.
They suggest that they didn't do things the way it was supposed to be done, so now they cover it under the guise of "Ok, don't make the same mistake".
I don't mean to sound heartless, but the need to realize nothing is 100% safe.
Nothing.
How can they be using 2 similar setups and one child walk away while the other is ejected?
Simple...something failed (which happens) or they didn't have it set right (which happens).
If you feared everything that COULD go wrong, you'd never leave the house.

Um, 6-year-olds are supposed to be in car seats? I'm pretty sure I didn't get rides to first grade in a car seat.

In PA, it's up to age 8.
Not necessarily a car seat, but some type of child restraint system.

The age has increased lately. When I got rides to first grade, you didn't even need to wear a seatbelt.

If you have young kids, this video makes a lot of sense. My son has worn that same frog costume, has the same Buzz Lightyear, and fortunately, has been in a five-point harness all along. It's something to be thankful for.

If you don't have kids, probably don't have to worry about car seats. If you read the thread, wasn't asking you to click unless you had young children. Simple enough.

I have 3 babies, Mediaguy.
I do have to worry about car seats, but this video isn't really advocating anything specific except common sense.

Just out of curiosity, are child seats mandatory in most states?

IN CA, children are supposed to be in a car seat until three, then a car booster until six. But they are trying to change to eight.

Just wonderin'. In Ontario the law is:

Booster seats are required for children under the age of eight, weighing more than 18 kg but less than 36 kg (40-80 lbs) and who stand less than 145 cm (4 feet 9 inches) tall.
A child can start using a seatbelt alone once any one of the following criteria is met:
the child turns eight years old;
the child weighs 36 kg (80 lbs); or,
the child is 145 cm (4 feet 9 inches) tall

Ontario has it right.
The rule is keep them in a booster til they hit 4-ft, 9-in.
Plus. keep 'em in the back til they turn 12.
Anything you can do to keep your child safe is worth it.
