FYI, they did a 4K rerelease for the 35th anniversary, which includes 75 minutes of deleted scenes. There's supposedly a three-hour original cut of this that's never seen the light of day.

 
Funny movie - but anyone else feel the revelation that Del was a widower, which made his antics seem more like a coping mechanism to mask his pain, kind of make you feel bad? Like you were laughing at a man in obvious pain. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it.
 
Laila Robins, who made her film debut as Steve Martin's wife, is such a lovely actress, I'm surprised she didn't become more well-known. She was great on "Bored to Death."
