Watched Law Abiding Citizen a little while ago .... a solid thriller .... Gerard Butler was awesome as usual and the plot played out nicely.

I was rooting for Butler's character almost the entire movie. And I still hated Foxx's character at the end. I also had no problem with everyone who died with the exception of one and of course the two at the beginning.

Odd flick, but I loved the cell phone trick.

One thing, if he was such an amazing guy, how could have two idiots killed his family on a simple home invasion?

Worth the $1 Redbox rental. No way would I have dropped $10 on this.

Exactly BECAUSE it was just a simple home invasion ... he wasn't sitting around planning for it. There was a knock on the door and a bat in the face.

Agree on the cell phone ... that was pretty badass. And I, too, rooted for Butler almost the whole way, which is why I say the plot played out nicely. It was a satisfying ending and I wasn't sure they'd be able to pull that off.

The Cheese factor for Law Abiding Citizen was quite high. I can't say I regret seeing it in theater, but I wasn't expecting too much and wasn't disappointed. The final plot point about the tunnel made was the eye-rolling, GMAFB moment. Fortunately, it came was so near the end that it didn't matter. This is a movie that would have loved to be as good as Taken, but couldn't quite get there.

Watched "In the Loop" today. While it's a different kind of comedy from The Hangover, it's right there as the funniest movie of the year. It's definitely the smartest comedy in quite some time.

Is that the one with Gandolfini? I need to see that.

Yeah, that's it. I highly recommend it.

Watched a Brittany Murphy movie called 'Deadline' that my fiancee rented last night. Oh my god, it was forking awful. You spend an hour and 40 minutes watching her watch videos of a dead couple before she gets ..... I can't even go into how forking bad the rest of this film is.

Hopefully the studios release the other four movies that are left in her IMDB.com credits because that would be a terrible one to go out on.

Anyone see Shutter Island yet? I want to but haven't made it yet. Hearing good/strange things.

Crazy Heart - Bridges does a great acting and singing job, but his impact is dulled because of a craptastic script and questionable casting choices. The journalist character played by Maggie Gyllenhaal is appalling beyond all belief and while Colin Farrell is a good actor, I just can't see him as a country music performer. He's European for chrissakes. Certainly there was someone out there with a little Texan in him that could've made that part at least partly believable.
