There was a cryptically-worded email sent late yesterday (well, cryptic for me because I can't pretend to understand corporate-ese).heh, Yeah. I believe Lancey is correct - It's all about the accounting. They can produce $x million on the balance sheet for now, even though it might mean they lose all of that money over the next Y years, because they're leasing instead of owning the land and facilities.

As it was explained to me (in baby words) they're gonna start cutting a) publishing days and/or b) entire operations.
Sounds like they're going to be cutting more people and dumping more work on the poor Local Information Center MoJos and Editorial Coaches on the Digital Desks of the Print Optimization Pods to further cover the Moments of Life in their Real Life, Real News 2000 agenda.
