Missouri Sportswriter Murdered in Possible Road Rage Incident

But ... that's how zipper merging works.

Take that line of 40 and instead make it two lines of 20, and then the zipper merge goes to work. Turns out the drivers jumping the line aren't the problem.

Of course, one ashhole road rager in Macho 'Murrica can screw that up fast, too.

Yeah, that's the point, two lines all the way until the end. People getting into a lane a mile before you need to and leaving the other lane completely empty even though functional is crazy. Or not letting people over who heaven forbid use that lane.

There is one spot in my neck of the woods right now that because of construction gets bottlenecked totally. It happens where a toll lane (and they aren't even charging for tolls yet) ends. Zipper or not, if you don't take that toll lane all the way until it ends and get over you are going to spend an extra 20 minutes in that traffic. Guaranteed. Honestly, I have seen few problems with people letting others in, but it is crazy that the thought somewhere became don't use all the road available to you.

Was just up your way a couple of weeks ago and know where you're talking about.

I saw two stupid parking jobs this morning at the gym. The first was a large pickup truck that took up four spots. The driver pulled the truck through to the open space ahead of them; only to take up two spots of that space and have the truck's rear end take up the other two spots.

Second stupid driver decides to back into a space available between two cars and finally makes it after three attempts. What made it ridiculous is that the space ahead of his spot was also open and all he would have had to do was pull ahead and he'd be in a space to pull out.

That's a(nother) parking pet peeve of mine - if you need more than one try to do something simple like backing into a space, then don't do it. And if you need 3 tries? Then it's probably a vehicle you can't handle and shouldn't be driving in the first place.

Was hoping this resurrection of the thread was to link to an arrest in the case. So sad, and have to believe we'll be seeing more and more of these stories moving forward - and wondering how many cases like this happen regularly that we don't hear about.
