Mister Blue Sky, blue sky, blue sky

Go for it. It's infinitely better. Not as many posters but none of the bullship.

In the past week, most of the posters who were keeping me on Twitter have made the switch.

The doom and gloom at Bluesky was exhausting (if accurate) after Nov. 5, but to follow up on PCLL's point, there's been such a migration of users in the past week-plus that much of the sports & entertainment infrastructure has been built up. I'm spending a little more time there and expect that to increase dramatically.

Today was my first day on there and I spent a good bit of time merrily muting political accounts. Not trolls mind you, just people whose lives are centered around that. People I probably would have happily followed a month ago.

There is a neat feature called starter packs that lets you search by topic and then follow the accounts ashociated with it. You can take the whole shebang or pick and choose.

All - Bluesky Directory

So, is this thing going to be just like Threads or whatever else has popped up wand never really took off? It looks good. I don't want to set something up that's just another flash in the pan. It seems to me something could put twitter out of business, but it's going to take people/organizations to quit twitter cold turkey and drive traffic there.

I have seen a lot of that as well. Lots of people making the move in general, some who close their X account with a "fork You, Elon" and lot more who make the move but retain their old account because they refuse to cede the ground. I'm up on Blue Sky as well.
