College football Week 5 thread: Shout at the Blue Devil

One more thing, Pat McAfee is a tool, Desmond Howard too for taking Wazzu's and Ohio State's coaches to task for answering back to stupid shirt said by Lee Corso and Lou Holtz last week. They compared it to "elder abuse."

fork them. Old or not, if you don't want criticism, don't say stupid shirt. Imagine WSU answering back to the network which helped break up the Pac-12 and calling out Corso for taking a pot shot at one of the most exciting teams in football this year. And I am no Ohio State fan, but calling them "soft" and "not physical" on national TV is some stupid shirt.

David Pollock was an SEC honk but he was much better than McAfee, who didn't even know about the Wazzu flag tradition at Gameday.

"Ah, who cares! Who cares! Were you guys showing this flag when they were 1-11 in 2009? How about 2-10 in 2010? You were? That's wild. So when they SUCKED, you guys were showing them every single week on the biggest college football show? Wow! Handle success, Ryan Leaf! Geez… I want a West Virginia flag flying up there every single time. We don't get it, Washington State gets it, and all of a sudden, Washington State's going, 'Now Big Beav's up there!' Like, shut up! Washington State, about sick of you! Waste of time on this show…"

But God forbid we besmirch journalism with a Taylor Swift reporter.

Can you really call anything Pat McAfee does journalism? I find him entertaining, but I developed a high tolerance for Yinzers growing up in Pittsburgh.

Ole Miss Security Guy does a good impersonation of the defenses that were on the field tonight.

Matt Rhule seems exactly like the guy who onsides kicks down 45-7 with four minutes left and then calls timeout with three seconds left to throw a Hail Mary, because that's what they did

Hey, Siri, who won the Alabama football game?

"Alabama pounded Mississippi State by a score of 40-17 yesterday."

Siri needs to be in the booth.

Security needs to adjust on the fly in that situation and redeploy to make sure the visiting team can reach the tunnel. Best you can hope for in those circumstances. But to get a security team smart enough to make that adjustment, you've got to pay an hourly rate that exceeds the cost of a souvenir Coke and some nachos from the concession stand.

Couple of quick thoughts:
* Really nice bounceback win for my Hokies against a team that has been a horror show for them of late. Gives me a little hope that they can compete in the ACC going forward. I'm now squinting really hard and can maybe see the four wins needed to get bowl eligible -- Wake, Syracuse and NC State at home and one of BC or UVA away.
* Georgia is not the best team in the country. Not even close. But their toughest games (Kentucky, Missouri, Ole Miss) are in Athens. I'm not impressed at all with Beck and the run defense is a mess. Kentucky could pick them off next week.
