It would give the teams another stream of revenue. Is the New York Times not going to cover the Knicks if they have to pay for a seat? There would be an outcry, but I think the NYT is obligated to cover that event, and subsequently, pay. It seems to me the team can get away with this. The seats not sold by the team are then sold to fans.

There are so many holes in the argument. I could spend all day looking at pros and cons. Just think it is something that could happen.

Kentucky has a few media (Jerry Tipton, local guys and the like, as far as I can remember) who get the primo seats at midcourt.
The rest (visiting media and the rest of the unwashed) are in the end zones underneath the baskets.
You're also in the end zones above the baskets at North Carolina and Miami.
At least at Miami, you have a primo view of the 'Canes' dance team.... rowr.
