New Fantasy Baseball League

Now that Luis Gil is taking a seat for a long time, and so I don't forget the deadline, here is the Houston Trashtros keeper list:

Round, Player

15. Gunnar Henderson
16. Michael Harris
17. Logan Gilbert
18. Jackson Chourio
19. Jordan Westburg
20. Colton Cowser

NOTE: Westburg and Cowser were free agents who I picked up during the course of last season. My understanding of the rules, and I don't feel like going back a lot of pages on this thread, is that a free agent keeper is a 20th pick and if there's a second free agent keeper; one guy is a 19th rounder and the other a 20th rounder. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and I'll fix the draft round for each affected player.

That is correct. Thanks.

I was justchecking the t hread to remind everyone that the deadline is less than a week away. I strongly suggest everyone follow your lead and share a tentative list now. You may revise it up until the deadline Thursday March 13 at 8:30 p.m. EDT.

Just to make it easier to find, here is the draft order with the rules again.

1. Fields of Dreams
2. There's a Deep Drive to Left
3. Tet Corporation
4. Cinquantes
5. We are Family
6. Done Messed Up A-Aron
7. Porky Puig
8. Bigger Body of Bad Work
9. Tampico Stogies
10. Sterling Silver
11. Ray of Hope
12. Houston Trashtros

I'm also re-posting the rules just so they are easy to find on the thread.

League Rules
  • Keepers will be due exactly one week before the draft each year. Effective for 2024, teams failing to turn in a roster on time will lose three keeper spots. If they are more than a day late, they will lose the remaining keeper spots. There will be no exceptions.
  • Teams will be permitted and encouraged to turn in a keeper list early. Keeper lists may be submitted on the league thread on SJ.com, via PM, or by email to the commissioner at tampicostogies@yahoo.com. Owners may revise their list up until the deadline, so there is no penalty for submitting it early.
  • Players will cost their owner a draft pick two slots higher than their cost the previous seasons. Undrafted players will cost a 20th-round pick. If you have two players who cost the same round, you may designate the order. If you do not, the commissioner will choose the order for you.
  • Effective for the 2023 season, the league added an NA spot to allow for minor leaguers. That is determined by Yahoo's designations. Players who are suspended by MLB are not eligible for the NA spot.
  • Effective 2023, the draft will be 26 rounds with an additional roster spot. NA is not a roster spot for the draft. Owners will have to move a player into that position or pick one up after the draft.
  • Effective 2024, saves will be replaced by saves+holds.

Here is my tentative list for the Tampico Stogies. Knowing me, I'll change it many times between now and the deadline.
  1. Austin Riley 12
  2. Brent Rooker 21
  3. Tarik Skubal 18
  4. Jared Jones 22
  5. Dylan Crews 24
  6. Jarren Duran 9

Very tentative list:

  1. Spencer Strider 14
  2. Corbin Carroll 15
  3. Logan Webb 17
  4. Freddy Peralta 18
  5. CJ Abrams 19
  6. Shane McClanahan 20

Porky Puig

Shohei Ohtani (batter) -- 9
Austin Wells -- 16
Masyn Winn -- 17
Jackson Holliday -- 18
Mark Vientos -- 19
Lawrence Butler -- 20

Holliday is a keeper at 18 based on last year's draft, so I ashume I need to jump two undrafted guys above him. Please let me know if that needs to be corrected.

You have Holliday, Vientos, and Butler correct, but not Wells. He wasn't undrafted. He was taken in the 25th round by the Trashtros, so he costs you a pick in the 23rd round. (If I'm going to catch things that work out in favor of other owners, I need to get paid for this. lol)

So far, the following teams have posted keeper lists:
Tampico Stogies
Houston Trashtros
Sterling Silver
We are Family
Cinquantes
Porky Puig
Fields of Dreams
There's a deep drive to left...

The deadline is tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. EDT. I will not chase down the missing lists. If there is no list by the deadline, those teams will lose keeper spots accordingly.

Edit: I updated with two more rosters. That makes eight, and I will speak with one more shortly. That leaves three MIA with a little over a day to the deadline.

I've got Bigger Body of Bad Work's keepers, too.

We are just missing Ray of Hope and Done Messed Up A-Aron, who usually sends them last minute.

I just got Ray of Hope's list, so I'm just missing one. Remember, y'all can revise your lists until the deadline. If I revise mine, I will post the new list here, on the league site, or both.
