NFL Week 5 -- They know me and Jayden Daniels got a history

Pretty much. Unless the Bengals fork it up by thinking a 55-yard FG is "close enough."

One of my huge football pet peeves is teams playing for a 50+ yard field goal when they don't have to. It's nowhere near a gimme even for the best NFL kickers, and a lot can go wrong as we saw there.
Granted, the distance probably why that field goal was missed, but it still makes no sense. You have plenty of room to be cautiously aggressive in that situation.

Taylor certainly deserves to lose that game. How do you not trust Burrow to at least try to get it closer there?
Lost in that will be Lamar Jackson making a killer mistake with the game on the line.

I always threaten to drive my fist through the TV screen when they flash the "FG distance" graphic line -- which requires the kicker to match his career longest.

Even more so when the offensive team essentially adopts that idea as their official goal. Setting up your kicker to kick a 58-yard field goal isn't the optimal strategy.

It's like AFC coaches decided they'd try to one-up each other on baffling and horrific ways to lose games today.

Bengals had a rookie holder too. That's the darn season. When does Terry Francona report to spring training?

The Titans open date is my best Sunday all fall. You'd think I would take the hint.
