Caught the end of regulation and OT. Wow, talk about two coaches playing not to lose …
If your coaching strategy is banking on a 65-yard FG (Denver) or a special teams screw up by the opponent (LA), that doesn't say you have much confidence in your offense.
And these are two QBs who have proven they can lead game winning drives.
Thank God that one's over.
Wilson has been garbage, but his coach has been worse.
This guy, who settled for a 64-yard game-winning field goal attempt in the first game, pashes on a 57-yarder in the fourth quarter when no one can score (got a 20-yard punt out of it too!). His third and fourth and short play calls are abysmal. First possession in OT you run it, from under center, two straight times and get to third and 1 and then you go to shot gun and skip a 15-yard pash in there. I mean, what the ugh?
On two punt returns in OT, you have 10 guys on the field once, and have no clue -- blocker or return man -- on the other and muff it for the game winner.
What is going on in the coach's room? Have they even watched football before? The previous two coaches were crap and I'd almost guarantee with the same defensive performances they'd be 5-1 this year. Still maybe not great coaches or overall team, but yeah.
This poor defense. They have lost games giving up 17, 12, and 19, including two OT games (the latter two only 9 and 16 in regulation). Such ridiculous results.
I am, but maybe not, being rash, but I think they already have to cut ties with Hackett. This is beyond terrible. You have to figure out something with Wilson because you gave up too much for him. Cut your losses with the stupid coach who can't figure out what a football looks like.
