NFL Week 6 -- What could possibly go wrong in 13 seconds?

I don't. That being said, owners are going to be loathe to kick someone out because once the precedent is set, they could be one scandal away from being next.

Absolutely, but the shirt is piled so high right now that they may have to act. As the article points out, the real issue might be that he is costing them money. There was also the report that he is lying about how much money his team brings in, so he is cheating the other owners, too.

Agreed, but I'm guessing that a bunch of the owners aren't without sin on the reporting of revenue. I listened to the ESPN Daily podcast this morning and the key line was that Snyder has no shame. If he won't voluntarily sell and then goes full mutually assured destruction mode if they vote him out, that could be worse than tolerating him.

Hmmm ...

In recent months, Snyder has told close confidants that his private investigators dug up incriminating information about Goodell, other unnamed league office executives and an unknown number of owners. League and ownership sources say there's lots of gossip and speculation about what investigators could have unearthed, but some wonder whether Snyder actually has anything at all and is bluffing as a scare tactic.

Anything that came out would likely be in the form of a leak to The New York Times or The Wall Street Journal, because, multiple league and team sources say, Snyder hates The Washington Post.

Jon Gruden's emails containing racist, misogynistic and anti-gay language were leaked to The Wall Street Journal in early October 2021. A few days later, Bruce Allen's emails were leaked to The New York Times, and Gruden resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Interesting.

Great, he's taking lessons from 45

I'm sure the other owners know some of what he has on them, or he'd be on his ass right now. They're not going to be held hostage by a stone cold bluff from a known lying dipshirt.

The only dirt the other owners could possibly care about is information that'd cost them money. Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft, two of the most influential, have been named in pathetic sex scandals and no one cared, least of all them. But if, say, Snyder knows, and as an owner he would, that the 32 of 'em colluded to violate the CBA or to screw one or more broadcast partners, THEN the owners would worry. There's also this to consider. If I owned another franchise, particularly an NFL East franchise, I wouldn't be so eager to see Snyder out in Washington. Do the other players at a poker game encourage the pigeon to go home early?

If they did collude, so did Dan. Bitching them out is also a confession of guilt. How does that serve his interest?

Considering the egos involved, you wonder if the NFL owners will allow Snyder to hold their balls in layaway - or if they might actually do something.

Someday we will know about all of Jones's misdeeds. Snyder's and Kraft's, too.

I mean, how much worse are Jerry Jones' foibles than the stuff that's already out there?

That's just it. To really have any impact, Snyder's "dirt" would have to involve major financial malfeasance involving the NFL itself. They're all billionaires, so the public assumes at least some if not all of their gains were ill-gotten.
