Obscure sports trivia

Rochester Royals?

Syracuse Nationals?

Fort Wayne Pistons?

Providence Steam Rollers?

St. Louis Hawks?

Just throwing shirt at the wall, and it's fun to type in those old franchise names that illustrate how minor-league the original NBA was.

None of those, but you're on the right track.

Also, as another hint, the reason why this team only had five men for one game was because they set a record with the Royals for the most overtimes in NBA history with six OTs the night before.

Gonna guess this occurred before the arrival of the shot clock.
Celtics?

So the answer is the Indianapolis Olympians on Jan. 7, 1951. They lost to Tri-City by four.

The story behind it was that night before, Indy played at the Rochester Royals and won in six OTs. The game went so long that Indy missed its train to Chicago. They took another train to Detroit and got a plane. However, there was only room for five players on the plane, so the starting five took the flight. The other players went by train to Moline, but didn't arrive until after the game.

Yes, times were different back then.

Speaking of the early days of the NBA, the first 10 championships in the NBA and its predecessor, the BAA, were won by teams that eventually relocated. In other words, not even competitive excellence could ensure the teams' stability.

Name the last year in which the NFL champion and the AP poll champion for college ball were both won by teams from the same state. For extra credit, name the championship teams.
