General Trivia thread (the more obscure the better)

Correct. The new/current campus was under construction when the ACC came into being.
The new campus was only 15 years old when I went through the interview process there in spring of 1971. Pretty, but didn't have the age-old beauty of Three Chopt Tech or the older part of UVa, the other schools my family visited on that long-ago trip. Never sent in the completed application that fall because I didn't want to write another application essay by that point I'd decided to go elsewhere if they would accept me.

Luckily they did or it would have been a safety school like Baldwin-Wallace or Muskingum.

LSU's original campus was in Pineville, then was moved to Baton Rouge after the Civil War.

Speaking of which, this is probably an easy one, but what famous American was LSU's first superintendent?

Imagine writing that game story.
"Huge game by 894657," Rockland coach and warden Carl Hoddeger said. "He just arrived from another institution last week. Can't say which one. One helluva transfer portal acquisition, I'd say. I may have to give some of my imminent bonus to the judge who ordered that other institution to reduce its overcrowding problem."

California Penal League had a helluva right-handed pitcher back in the late 80s.

John Lennon famously took the lyrics of "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite" from an old circus poster he bought at an antique store. "Everything from the song is from that poster," he said, "except the horse wasn't called Henry."

What was the horse's name on the poster?
