Penn State scorn versus Michigan State scorn

https://www.abc4.com/news/local-news/tom-farden-out-as-head-gymnastic-coach-at-university-of-utah/

Seems coaches of women's teams are getting hit with this more and more frequently - and Utah is a top gymnastics program. This isn't a "sex" thing - just general coaching. Don't know where you draw the line between "motivating" and abuse. I don't think coaching has changed, but I do think expectations from athletes has.

Some of the anecdotes in that story, holy cow. Just glad my kids aren't elite athletes.

Michigan State working extra hard to keep the scorn belt.

https://statenews.com/article/2023/...ust-msu-with-rape-report-then-was-disbelieved

Two days after she was raped, Lilley Schatz walked into Michigan State University's police department to report it.

She was led into an interview room and asked to recount the night.

Schatz did, trying to be as clear as possible about the traumatic details she was still making sense of.

At first, it went well. She felt trusted, like theuniform division officer taking her statement cared about what she was saying.

Then, she added something: the man who raped her was a member of MSU's football team.

Suddenly, she felt the officer's demeanor change. She no longer felt believed.

Worried by his perceivable doubt, she asked the officer if what she was describing was a crime. She says he told her no, that it was a "gray area."

That conversation probably happens at 95 percent of FBS schools. Including my beloved alma mater.

Disgusting, but I'm not surprised.

Just in front of highly probable removal

https://www.wilx.com/2024/03/04/msu-board-trustees-chair-rema-vassar-resigns/?outputType=amp

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University Board of Trustees Chair Rema Vassar has resigned just hours before a special board meeting.

Vassar sent a letter to fellow board members and incoming President Kevin Guskiewicz Sunday evening informing them that she was stepping down as chair.

Her resignation comes two days after the Miller and Chevalier report was released on Friday, March 1.

The special meeting on Sunday is for the trustees to discuss the findings of the Miller and Chevalier report against Vassar and Trustee Dennis Denno. The report said that both Vassar and fellow trustee member Dennis Denno made numerous ethics and conduct violations.

The Lansing State Journal rouses from its slumber:

Check out this article from Lansing State Journal:

Whitmer to decide fate of MSU trustees Rema Vassar, Dennis Denno

Too bad the LSJ and Detroit papers didn't report that taking action at the meeting is a violation of Michigan's Open Meetings Act, which no longer allows for governing bodies to meet on Zoom - they have to meet in person to take action. That said, these two clowns deserve to go, and the MSU board has been a three-ring circus for some time now. And, why on earth would they meet at 10 p.m. on a Sunday?

Hey, isn't it time somebody comes up with some real good Penn State scorn? It's been a while ...

Ah, that's Lubrano. He's a jabronie.

I'd honestly be okay with it and -- if their goal is to get some of those aging boomers who are still mad about how the guy was treated to write one of two more big checks before they croak -- its not a bad business strategy. To the outsiders, you'll look like a bunch of weirdos still obsessed with him, but a substantial amount of people are and have never let it go. The fact that Lubrano and JayPa were elected to that board in the first place is proof.
