And, in honor of the late Mr. Cobain who's suicide anniversary was yesterday:

High Enough? Gotta admit . . .when Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent are in a band together with a dude from Night Ranger, I expect cheese, but not to the depths they plunged on Damn Yankees' debut album.

Either way, here's the lyrics.

Point and laugh at sportschick.

i don't want to hear about it anymore
It's a shame i've got to live without you anymore
There's a fire in my heart,a pounding in my brain's driving me crazy

We don't need to talk about it anymore
Yesterday's just a memory can we close the door
I just made one mistake,i didn't know what to say when you called me,baby

Don't say goodnight, say your gonna stay forever
All,all the way

Can you take me high enough
To fly me over yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over yesterday's just a memory
Yesterdays just a memory

And i don't want to live without you anymore
Can't you see i'm in misery and you know for sure
I would live and die for you and i know just what to do when you call me,baby

Don't say good-bye,say your gonna stay forever
All,all the way

Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over,yesterday's just a memory away

I was running for the door
And next thing i remember
I was running back for more

Don't say good-bye,say your gonna stay forever
All,all the way

Can you take me high enough
Can you fly me over yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over,whoa whoa whoa

Can you take me high enough
Won't you fly me over yesterday
Can you take me high enough
It's never over whoa whoa whoa

Not that Sportschick needs any doughy sportswriter to defend her, but you better point this way, buddy. I was watching the Classic (and yes Claude, Ted kicking down that door kicks ass) and alerted SC to the great video that she could not see because her cable sucks nard. So she downloaded it.

So lay off SC. She likes good music. Dickweed. :D

Damn Yankees was awesome. That first album was the last great AOR album.

Now the Classic is airing Rock and Roll by Led Zep. One of the greatest intros in rock history.

Actually . . . . I like the album myself. Freshman year in high school, it was all over the radio. But man, every song was classically cheesy. As in, worse than Bon Jovi, Skid Row, etc. Gloriously cheesy. I wouldn't buy the album, mind you.

It was embarrassingly cheesy. And I like Coming of Age better than High Enough.

I wanna say they were blue, but most of the time they were bloodshot from all the drugs if I remember ... then again I don't really know.

Another One Bites the Dust - Queen ... appropriate after a Nirvana song?

Taking it down a few notches on the Cool-O-Meter: "Hannah Jane" by Hootie and the Blowfish. Saw them on tour in Pullman in 2000. Amazing how fast they became washed up.

This should surprise absolutely no one, but I really liked the Hootie debut. "Hannah Jane" is the lead track if I recall...a really upbeat good time song. they didn't come close to re-inventing the wheel, but they were a damn good bar band. Atlantic overexposed 'em, but they ruled the world for a while.
They sold 12 million copies of their debut.
Right place at the right time.

I was on a marching band trip to Disneyland. I was in the hotel room watching TV (for some reason I think the Jim Rome-Jim Everett incident happened around the same time). I broke the news to most of my fellow band geeks.
