President Biden: The NEW one and only politics thread

"He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother."

Godspeed to all those who will continue on into the new thread. ... Here's hoping that there's an America worth recovering on the other side and we are just enduring technical difficulties.

It'll be fixed. But not without bloodshed and I suspect not completely in my lifetime (I'm 48). And when it's fixed, I suspect the United States of America itself won't look the same in terms of its state-by-state composition.

A 248-year lifespan for a democracy is a hell of a run. Just wish it could have lasted at least a few more decades. Selfishly, I just wanted it to endure long enough to get through my life, because afterwards, in the words of Mike Leach, "What do I care? I'll be dead."

This country saw four years of this forkwad and signed on for more. The people who voted for him deserve what their idiocy will wreak.

The general consensus of the online screechosphere is that he won a decisive sweeping dominant victory, rendering all resistance futile and in a way pathetic.

Why worry about winning 60 percent when you can win 49.8 and act like it anyway??
If there's one thing we've learned about Trump, it's that he avoids putting in the work at all costs.

Working hard is for suckers or for immigrants who will soon be deported anyway.

Someone will be taking notes, and ideally the administration following Trump's will be more interested in prosecuting violations of 5 CSR 2365-702, benefiting from misuse of position.

On the 4-year anniversary of me posting this -- Jerry Ford looks down and says: "Our long national nightmare is over."

Let's hear from this guy: "Time to go back to sleep."
