Running 2025 golf thread

I always thought it sped up Tiger's injuries when he bulked up to the size of an NFL linebacker. We'll never really know, because so much other stuff went down around that time too. And maybe the back issues would've been there anyway. But that navy seal training and all the other stuff seems like a huge mistake.

What a game, JT went 78-62 and jumped 105 spots in one day. Wow.
I watched almost all of it, and that's one of the best rounds of golf I've seen on TV in a very long time.
It's not like they're playing in Palm Springs or anywhere either.

Thomas was amazing, but with no wins and pretty soft fairways and greens due to earlier rains, TPC Sawgrash was as defenseless as it can ever get. Not many days where the field shoots under par, as it did yesterday.
PS: Thomas had 62 and bogeyed 18, his last hole!

A very Pished off Scottie is a fun Scottie to watch -throwing balls into the water, throwing clubs at his bag. Who knew he wasn't a robot?

Could Morikawa erase last week's loss this week?? As a Cal guy I'm rooting for him (although I agree with Rocco that the no show last week @post round media session was weak sauce).

It was very weak, and then doubling down in his pre-Players press conference by saying "I don't owe you anything" was lousy. He also argued that no writers followed him into the autograph area after the final round, when he had already turned down the Tour's request to go to the flash area. That's not how it works, Collin.

I feel like this might be a media generational divide with older scribes taking more offense, the guys/gals who saw Tom Watson pour it out after Turnberry for example. Now you've got Morikawa pulling this and Rory peeling out of Pinehurst last year, and there will be more, and fewer writers will put them on blast.

There are also fewer writers to do so.
Funny how Palmer always talked after a loss, no matter how painful. And Nicklaus after all 19 of his runner-up finishes in majors.

Horschel did one of those walking interviews during the broadcast and spoke freely on how badly he sucked out there.
