You had a valid green card and have lived here for 50 years? Doesn't matter. ICE is taking you in.

You're not a criminal, and haven't been arrested? Doesn't matter...

Sixteen months ago all she would have been able to show was an expired green card as we waited 20 months for processing of her renewal.
