President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

Carrying this over from the old thing read:

1. They ain't takin' nothing back in two years. Ironclad voter repression, gerrymandering and brutal controls on the media will see to that.

2. They ain't "playing defense," filibustering, obstructing or delaying anything. The GOP will take that weapon out of their hands within 15 minutes of the opening gavel and completely nuke the filibuster on everything. The Dems aren't obstructing a goddamn thing.

Trump's pick for the SCOTUS seat will be nominated and approved by instantaneous acclamation voice vote as an extra fork you to the Obama regime. No hearings, no delays, no debate, no nothing, bam zoom and swear him in.

Trump commuting into and out of Manhattan would paralyze much NYC traffic every Friday and Sunday evening/night. This will annoy people but also serve as a symbolic issue if/when his administration screws up. All administrations screw up, even the ones I've supported, so please don't take that as a partisan prediction.

Annoying Manhattanites would only endear Trump more to his base.

America died on Nov. 8, 2016, not with a bang or a whimper, but at its own hand via electoral suicide. We the people chose a man who has shredded our values, our morals, our compashion, our tolerance, our decency, our sense of common purpose, our very identity — all the things that, however tenuously, made a nation out of a country.

Stopped reading after the first paragraph.

Thanks for proving Gabler's point.

Trump also wants to go around having more rallies, which is totally not fascist or anything, but one thing it would do is bring those same traffic problems TO his base.

Why would it have to paralyze street traffic? Just fly the chopper to the roof of Trump Tower.

He certainly wouldn't be he first leader to run his country out of a tacky monument he built to honour himself.

If I've got Trump's ear I tell him to have a rally a week, every Saturday. Trump feeds off them, needs them.

Take his 'fireside chats' directly to his supporters.

First one is in Janesville, Wisconsin.

I draw a distinct line between the right to protest, which we should always have, and the wisdom and usefulness of protest. And don't take that as a blanket condemnation of protest.

We can work on uniting the country, understanding the guy on the other side of the aisle a little better, or we can work on widening the chasm. Which one do you think will be more beneficial to the United States in the long run?
