Wow, had no idea his daughter was the lovely female lead in Tremors. I associated him with the things I had read about the Iranian Hostage Crisis. RIP.

As garrow mentioned above, I too remember him primarily for his role in President Carter's State Department.

The Greenville paper still boasts about his father's Pulitzer. I guess once you're awarded one, you're a Pulitzer Prize-winning paper in perpetuity. Flashbacks of the Spirits of St. Louis now.
