RIP Rosalynn Carter

Our old next-door neighbors celebrated their 70th anniversary the weekend after we moved into our house. That was our introduction to them.

They made it to 76 years before the wife pashed away, after they moved to an ashisted living facility. I saw the husband only once after that, at church, and he seemed eerily calm about everything. Next thing we knew, we got the message that he pashed peacefully as well. Nothing was keeping him here any longer.

I fear that's going to be the case with President Carter too, especially given his age and health issues. What wonderful lives.

I think it popped in everyone's mind that Jimmy might pash soon. It happens too often in situations like this to be ignored. And it's a romantic notion in a long-lasting love like the Carters had.

Also, Jimmy went into hospice in February.

But no Barack or George W. Bit surprised by that.

I know he's probably thinking about Christian charity and all that, but god darn it, fascism should have consequences, I hope Jimmy leaves explicit instructions that Fatfork is not to set foot in the door at his services -- he's to be barred by physical force if necessary.

Now that we're talking about it, I suspect that's exactly why Bush and Obama aren't going: they figure if they did, Fatfork would invite himself and create a scene the Carters obviously don't want.
