RIP Len Dawson

Just like the ABA, the AFL played a much more exciting game than the NFL. And that was because of guys like Dawson, John Hadl, Broadway Joe and the Mad Bomber.

If Pete Rozelle's biggest mistake was to play games after JFK's assassination, his smartest move was to merge the two leagues. And the current NFL is way more like the 1960s AFL than old-line NFL people would like to admit.

RIP, Len.
