I've been yapping about this.
When you insist on doing these types of plays, you do give up control of the result if it's close. When it is a rugby scrum and not a play in the open field, you're adding in another set of variables.
Roll Allen out on those plays. You'll get your two yards.
McDermott's teams get so tight. Going for 2 when they don't need to. Going away from the running game when it's getting 7 yards a carry. Even kicking that 53 yard FG… even making it isn't going to help beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead.
