We all saw his name at the end of Pat Summerall/John Madden football broadcasts -- Sandy Grossman, who directed numerous (hundreds) of football games for CBS, has died. Remember seeing his name all the time and now has been linked universally with Summerall & Madden. RIP.

When that guy's name was said at the end of another NFC East battle, it usually meant the sun was down on a cold, autumn Sunday as Summerall would utter... "that's after...Murder She Wrote".

RIP to a pioneer.

Grossman and Bob Stenner were there behind-the-scenes Summerall and Madden and drove CBS Sports to its heights in the late 1970s through 1994 when it lost the NFL.

Here's the last drive Grossman/Stenner Summerall/Madden called.

RIP to a pioneer.

At first, he would mention 60 Minutes.

RIP.
