Running 2017 MLB regular season thread

It's not trolling to ask the question .... but your lucid, well thought out reply to my answer was ....

and this ...

and this ...

and this ...

If anything drives me away from this site for good, it is going to the epidemic overuse of the "T" word.

In my day, sports writers were smartasses. We gave as well as we took, and then we all went out for beers together.

Forgot about the suspension when he was so mad at the pitcher he threw his helmet at first base.

I post under my real name here because I don't want to use anonymity as a shield for being an asshole. You should give it a try.

Oh, get bent. Read your initial responses on two straight Nationals digressions and see who the asshole has been.

I guess it doesn't hurt given their position in the division race. But that is somewhat unusual.

McCutchen also typically ends with 157 or 158 games. I bet most young star outfielders have throughout eras.
I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe Dusty is ahead of the curve with rest. Every other sport is starting to acknowledge the importance of days off. Has to be coming from above.

Now, see, some form of this would have made a pretty reasonable response to my initial post, rather than a knee-jerk defense of Two-Forty Three Harper's toughness.

Dude, you started this mess with the "U mad bro?" post. You did.

The forking lamest thing on this board is the "U mad bro?" post. Nobody is mad here. You know it and I know it. Its the equivalent of writing "humina humina humina...."

And then you pull some victim shirt.

Since you are acting like such a victim, let me tell you how a message board argument is supposed to work. Refer to the La Var Ball thread.

Lonzo Ball shirts the bed in the first Summer Pro League game. Must have been five posters, including me, who said Lonzo sucks. @JC defends Lonzo, says its to early, blah blah blah.

Ball proceds to forking kill the rest of the Summer Pro League, vindicating JC.

Yesterday, he reposts our messages about Ball sucking. We acknowledge we were wrong, at least I did, and we all move on. Point won by JC. Nobody is crying, no extended pissing matches.

You call out Harper for sitting out too many games. Another poster comes back with some stats - and you don't like the tone (and he perhaps disproves your allegation) and you start the U mad stuff, and how you are running 11 miles this morning, and if this keeps up, you just may leave.

At times, you are a forking message board baby. Own it. A message board baby pulls the U mad bro shirt. A message board baby says that he ran 11 miles this morning, what did you do. And especially a message board baby threatens to leave.

Go. Hit the forking bricks, you big baby.

"You mad" was a callback to a prior exchange between he and I where we joked about him being "mad" about me naming Kris Bryant a "dark horse" MVP candidate. I thought it was a running thing - Justin_Rice defends the Nationals.

The "11 miles" was a jokey response to him saying I was "drunk."

You guys suck. This is the most humorless place on the Internet. It used to be fun.

None of that shirt /\/\/\ jibes with how it reads.

See ya.

Well maybe next time you should save the mother hen lecture until you know the history.

I try to defuse a situation with humor. Another guy gets pissy. I'm the problem, though.
