Anita Pointer made it under the wire on the last day of 2022, so I'll start a new thread here. Hat tip to Jake from State Farm for the idea.

RIP, Anita. Just a string of memorable, danceable hits. Every time "Neutron Dance" came on the radio, I'd have to stop typing in the newsroom.

Her brother Aaron played baseball and was an NFL referee. Her cousin was Paul Silas.

I believe Ruth is the only original sister still living.

Singer Anita Pointer of The Pointer Sisters dies at age 74

Why is it the Chicken Dance when everyone goes quack quack quack quack?
So according to unreliable sources, it's supposed to be about a duck. However, to explain the song for a tv broadcast in Oklahoma in 1981, they had a guy in a chicken suit do the dance because they couldn't find a duck costume.
