I wish that band had come to Toronto. I saw The Jam on The Gift tour in a lousy, sweltering venue with brutal sound. Weller was here not long ago but tickets were impossible to get.

I saw Johanson open for Pat Benatar back in 1981 or something. Odd pairing to be sure but he was much better than she was. She didn't have the stage chops to be playing arenas in those days.

Watching the Oscars, didn't realize Will Jennings died. Talk about a broad career, writing hits for everyone from Barry Manilow to Jimmy Buffett to Mariah Carey, Dionne Warwick, Steve Winwood and oh yeah, TWO Oscars for best song with Up Where We Belong and a little ditty "My Heart Will Go On." Perhaps the first song I dug of his. Did I mention he had a very broad career?
