Running MCU thread

Everything I've read and seen suggests that the Captain America movie is going for the same genre as The Winter Soldier, so yes, a political thriller. It will be darn good if they can come anywhere close because that was easily one of the top five MCU movies.

That is what came to mind, Winter Solider. And it probably is still my favorite MCU movie, so if it is even in the same atmosphere it will be OK.

I think they have even said that was the vibe they are going for in this one. Unfortunately, there is no indication that Nick Fury will be in this one and Jackson was brilliant in The Winter Soldier. Also, in that one Chris Evans had Scarlett Johansson and Mackie to work with. Mackie has Danny Ramirez. (I had to look him up.)

Agreed on the Thing's look. It was off-putting I thought. Herbie, though…for some reason that brought a smile to my face. Helped that I didn't hear any dialogue - at least I don't think I did. I liked the look of Galactus.

The CGI on the Thing probably isn't finished. I watched again to be sure. HERBIE emitted some sounds that might pash for it speaking.

New trailer from, complete with what sure as heck looks like a spoiler for a key character getting killed.

My wife and I saw Captain America: Brave New World tonight. I thought it was good, not great. I didn't love the writing for Ross's character, especially in the film's climax, but Ford makes much of it work. Mackie is a solid Sam Wilson. LIke the movie itself, I give him a B, but I may be a generous grader.

Speaking of grades, this is another MCU movie that probably makes some people in the audience think they showed up to clash without doing their homework. I'm certain my wife felt that way. This movie plays off of characters and storylines from The Incredible Hulk and Eternals movies and the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. There is a reference to another movie that helps the audience make sense of a character, but it is a mild spoiler to say which one. That takes some chutzpah to expect the audience to know a movie that came out in 2008, a middling Disney+ series that many didn't bother to watch, and whatever the hell people want to call Eternals.
