It's hard to understand why Shockey wasn't on the sideline supporting his team?

Maybe Coughlin didnt want him there?

Or Shockey is just a punk who was pissy the Giants were winning without him.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Most overrated player in the league. It is NOT a coincidence manning improved greatly after he left. Absolutely not.

yeah, he won't be a giant next season.

Great damn football game.
For the last 15 minutes it was. For the first 45, it blew.

This is crazy talk. It was a close game the entire way. yeah, there was no scoring. So it was like a pitcher's duel. Fine by me. And with every passing minute, the impossible became more possible. How was that not captivating?

I cannot believe people who remember a decade's worth of complete Super Bowl duds can call a game in which neither team led/trailed by more than four the whole way a bore.

OK, so who do the Giants open the season with next season on Thursday night?

Cowboys
Eagles
Redskins
San Francisco
Seattle
Baltimore
Cincinnati
Carolina

Exactly - this was one of the great Super Bowls. The entire game was a white knuckle ride.

I agree, it was a wonderful game. The Patriots offense trying to figure out the Giants defense for three quarters was compelling television.

Well...what do you have to say for yourselves, New England?

Yours truly,

The 1972 Miami Dolphins

(sorry, had to endure a five-hour drive through a snowstorm and listened to Boomer and Marv on radio, so I missed all but the last 1:49 of the game, which was the best part)

Though sometimes the NFL likes to go inter-conference. Baltimore and Cincinnati aren't exactly attention-grabbers, though.

You realize 2 of the last 3 Super Bowl winners (05 Steelers, 07 Giants) were the last wild card squeezing in the playoffs with no home post-season games. Kinda makes you wonder how important the home field advantage actually is.
Giants were #5, Redskins #6. The "Road Warrior" tag is valid, though.

Not that it takes away from what they accomplished by winning three on the road ... but actually, Giants were the 5 seed and had locked up their spot with a couple weeks remaining. Redskins were the 6 seed.

Colts won their division, but did have to play in the wild card round.

Holy heck, am I the only one who is listening to Keyshawn Johnson? He more or less suggested that the Pats have to upgrade at every position. I understand that they weren't good in tonight's loss, but suggesting across the board upgrades--including the wide receiving corps--is the height of knee jerk stupidity.
