So, I've learned two things after tonight's game:

1) The Patriots are the greatest 18-1 team in the history of the NFL. No one will EVER take that away from them.

2) Coach Hoodie is a reeeeeeeeal classy guy stalking away from the field when there's still time on the clock. Yeah, I know the game was all but over, he already had shook hands and he's never given any indication that he'd do something that resembles sportsmanship, but would it kill ya to wait 30 more seconds? Would it?

Oh, Billy Simmons is probably curled up in a fetal position in LA. I am pleased with this.

Steve Levy on SportsCenter: "Wow, shocker. We were able to get Mercury Morris to talk about the 72 Dolphins. ... That's a hard get right there."

Nice.

I absolutely love Steve Levy.

All in all, I thought it was a heck of a chess-match game.

I don't like Eli Manning. I do like Junior Seau. I don't like Randy Moss. I don't like cheaters.

Belicheck choked. The Giants 'D' won the game and should have had the MVP.

The refs could easily have called Eli in the grasp, but (rightfully) chose to allow the play to continue, and Eli got away.

I really didn't care who won, so I didn't have to worry about having a heart attack while screaming at an inanimate object (no, not Eli, I mean the TV).

I agree with EVERYONE that, in retrospect, NE should have tried the FG. I'm not saying that they shouldn't have tried the FG. I'm saying that regardless of their decision on that play, they deserved to lose.

I wasn't here, but I and everyone I was watching with was screaming at the screen when it happened. No need for retrospection. Would have been a bad call even if he converted.

The FG call shouldn't even be an issue. Pats sucked dong and deserved to lose.
Huh?

An NFL team, in this day and age, not having a guy they feel confident giving a 49-yarder to ... indoors.... that's inconceivable.

I could see an argument if it were Tynes, but no. They should have kicked the FG.
What argument?

If Tynes were my kicker, I probably don't try the FG. But for the Pats, it was a no-brainer.

If you have a kicker who you don't trust to try to kick a 49 yarder in a dome, you replace him.

Tynes can make that easy.

Eli Manning owns New York City. Start spreadin' the damn news. Once you accomplish that, you might as well just go out on top of the world. He can get the hottest babes at Tenjeune, he can get the best table at Cipriani and he will sit center court at Flushing Meadows. It's all gravy for the Mannings from here on out. [/bandwagon Giants fangirl]

Oh, yeah. And as far as Spygate? 18-1 is karma, and that's a bench.
