Running video games (and consoles) thread

I could never find the happy medium. On NCAA Football, for example, All-American was a challenge for a while but ultimately got too easy. Heisman was way too hard. The 43rd time I threw to an open guy and the linebacker teleported 10 yards to intercept it, or I had absolutely no running lanes against a team like Alabama A&M, I wanted to throw the controller through a wall.

I really don't get the people, especially in the NCAA Football league here, who enjoy winning by lopsided scores like 94-7. Sure, scoring a whole bunch of points is fun, but I bet it can get monotonous. I'd rather be sweating out a win than have it be over by the first quarter.

Don't know about football, but I've found the recent baseball games have been pretty fair when sliders are adjusted.

Many times during a franchise season, I've followed up a 4-3 win by getting blown out 7-0.

Trey, what baseball game do you have? I just bought a PS3 and have heard great things about the Show. Yet, if the 2010 version is coming out soon, I don't want to waste it on 09, yet, then 2011 will come out and so on.

The Show is amazing. I don't think I'll purchase this year's version just because I like last year's so much and I've built a pretty good dynasty that I'd like to keep going. Having current rosters is irrelevant to me. Since there are no new stadiums this season, I'll stick with last year's version.

I owned the Show before I sold my PS3. Great gameplay, player models, graphics and I loved the "Road The Show."

I'd buy it without hesitation. Last year's version was great and might be one of the best sports games I've played.

EDIT: What Cosmo said. If you care about those kind of things, updated rosters are probably available online.

On Wii sports can anyone throw faster than 94 on baseball? i know it's nowhere near accurate because i'm not sure if i can hit 80 with a real baseball but it just seems sometimes there is no way the arm motion is as fast as a previous pitch and it will be 94.

cool, thanks. the other thing is can't seem to throw a split that's better than a 57 footer and they don't swing at it.

The split will never be in the strike zone. As a hitter, you can identify it quickly by the lack of spin, so don't swing. It becomes a worthless pitch to use against any human over age 7.

(I assume we are talking Wii Sports, not one of the other MLB games.)

Computer almost always swings at my splitters. Weird. But yeah, that's your dirtball pitch. Great out pitch.

Oh, and if you want to throw sidearm, hit the 1 or 2 button to toggle between sidearm and overhand, can't remember which button does it.
