Happened to hear that old 60's song by Barry McGuire this a.m. - Eve of Destruction.
Just a great song that I had forgotten about.

What are some of your favorites that have fallen off the radar?

"Blood so hot, feels like coagulating"

Best nonsense line in a song ever

And for me, Mungo Jerry "In the Summertime" makes me smile when I hear it. My new car has a Sirius subscription and I am having a lot of fun with the 70's and 80's channels. Lots of stuff I haven't heard in a while.

She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolor in the rain
Don't bother asking for explanations
She'll just tell you that she came

Dixie Chicken by Little Feat

Well, it's been a year since she ran away
Guess that guitar player sure could play
She always liked to sing along
She's always handy with a song

Then one night in the lobby of the Commodore Hotel
I chanced to meet a bartender who said he knew her well
And as he handed me a drink he began to hum a song
And all the boys there at the bar began to sing along

If you'll be my Dixie Chicken, I'll be your Tennessee Lamb
And we can walk together down in Dixieland
Down in Dixieland

In that same vain -- Going Up To The Country by Canned Heat.

I believe the line in 'Dixie Chicken' is 'Yes, that guitar player sure could play.'

'Going Up the Country' is a great, great song.

Just heard another of my obscure favorites - "She's Come Undone" by The Guess Who
