The point is fine, but the horrible, snarky way it's written just undercuts the point. You don't get to call people out for being unoriginal when your post is snarky takedowns of other things.

In the list writer forgot the best of "the last" -
Tom Wolfe's "The Last American Hero" about Junior Johnson. Maybe it does not count because it was originally Esquire story.

I too would like to see how it "changed" basketball.

Perhaps it was a simple as putting a big man on player taking ball out.
