The Soccer Thread (Version 14) — Sing Your Anthem Loudly Edition

I've seen enough from Gregg. But he's just a symptom of the problems at US Soccer.

I don't think you're the only one.

I think there is a certain amount of folly in leaning too much on the results of friendlies, and Colombia is currently hotter than a $2 pistol these days, but at the very least, if Copa America goes badly, they could pull the plug. On the other hand, 2/3 of the USA's group (namely Panama and Bolivia, which is consistently garbage when not playing at 10,000' in La Paz) gives them a very high floor. Either Colombia or Brazil (in the same group) could await in the quarterfinals.

I was kind of OK with bringing him back given the way he lost the job thanks to the Reynas' BS. But then I was reminded of his on-field product and am ready for a change.

It was kind of funny to see the team get housed like that after all the team's and USA Soccer's socials had been trumpeting "All 11 starters play in top-tier European leagues for the first time in USMNT history." Yeah, well, fat lot of good that did.

I don't like reading too much into a friendly. I will say that having a coach in the prime of his career not be involved in a club team isn't ideal.

That back line forked around so many times on Saturday, and got burned big time so many times.
That was horrific.
