Voices in music that irritate you

I was talking with a friend of mine about Coldplay, and we eventually slipped into certain voices of music and how there were some that just didn't resonate. A critic I watch a lot says it's "just at the right frequency to pish [you] off."

So, I ask all of you, who does that for you? My short, but ever-growing list:

- Peter Cetera of Chicago
- Most mainstream female country artists
- Jason DeRulo
- Early Justin Bieber

I love Dolores O'Riordan.

I agree about the Four Non Blondes singer.

Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow jump out to me.

Roger Hodgson of Supertramp and Geddy Lee of Rush. It's not that I don't think both are talented. It's not that I hate the bands they sing for. I just cannot stand listening to either one for more than a few minutes without scratching at my neck and cringing.

The REO Speedwagon guy (Kevin Cronin), especially when he hits the hard R.

"I can't fight this feeling anymoRRRRR/I've foRRRgotten what I staRRRted fighting foRRRR/It's time to bring this ship into the shoRRRRR and throw away the oaRRRRs foRRReveRRRR."

I did love "Nothing Compares To U," but for 99.7% of the time, yes, Sinead O'Connor.
