What is 'trolling'?

deck is a semi-pro. Tries to finesse his trolling.

To be fair I think a lot of what deck does is playing Devil's Advocate to foster discussion.

I don't like the expansive definition of "troll." I think it's dismissive and reduces people to a single-trait cartoon character while letting yourself off the hook from having to defend anything.

When a poster drags something up that has been debated to death for the sole purpose of starting shirt, he or she deserves to be dismissed.

Also, using that word doesn't mean you don't have to defend anything.
