When the skies of Nov. turn gloomy

Nov. 10, 1975
Edmund Fitzgerald and 29 souls went down.

If you've never been on the Great Lakes, there's really no way to describe how heavy it can get this time of year.

For what it's worth, the weather today has been abjectly shirtty here. It has been basically raining sideways all day. Points north and west of here are getting a nasty combination of snow, ice, wind, etc., but here's it's just rain at least until the overnight and even then, not supposed to be much accumulation. My apartment creaks and groans a lot on days like today.

Someone pointed out the line that perhaps haunts me the most of the song. It could be true for any event if you've ever lived through something traumatic.

"when the waves turn the minutes to hours"
