WNBA thread… 28.5 ain’t your pay cut

Obviously fewer teams, but I've got to say - first round ended last week, and now we're on to the finals? I approve. Heck, the NBA takes more than two months to slog through its playoff.

The less teams helps because they aren't trying to drag things out to have games every night and then give teams multiple days off. The is essentinally the NBA conference finals and they are doing double headers with one day off between 1 and 2 and 3 and 4. The NBA would have them each on the their own day in primetime.

It also helps that they do best of three and then best of five for semifnals and finals -- although they way popularity is going, you know it will be five in first round and seven for semis and finals

NBA used to be fo', fo', fo'. Then they added the first round which was best-of-3, then it became best-of-5, and then it was best-of 7 like the other rounds. Now of course there are the play-in games.

Valkyries name top Las Vegas assistant Natalie Nakase their first head coach.

The ending to this game is nuts.

Liberty blew a 15-point lead. Lynx go ahead by one after making a four-point play on a fouled three-pointer. Liberty stumble around on several final shot attempts, and a ball goes out of bounds on Brianna Stewart's foot, and the refs rule a jump ball instead. Then Stewart got fouled on an inbounds play as time ran out. Refs rule she was fouled with 0.8 seconds left. Stewart makes the first FT, and missed the second .

And we go to OT.

The Liberty coach not challenging on the late block is literal insanity.
