Your childhood sandwich?

Reviving the thread to proclaim my current sandwich love: A basement deli a few blocks from my apartment that I just now discovered despite it being around for like 55 years. The sandwich in question -- turkey, roast beef, pastrami, provolone, swiss, thousand island and sweet pickle chips toasted on rye. A sandwich made of win and cholesterol.
I would kill for a sammich like that within 10 miles of this southern outpost.

That's the punchline: I'm in a southern outpost. Less southern than you, but not exactly Brooklyn either.

I'd settle for a decent sammich place within 10 miles of me....

Slice of Home Pride Wheat
Welch's Grape Jelly
Skippy Peanut Butter
Slice of Home Pride Wheat

I can (and sometimes do) live on that for a week.

From elementary school through middle school, every Sunday when the family came back from church it was a plain bagel with ham and cheese in the microwave.

Starting with my summers home from college, it's been a chicken salad sandwich from Wawa on a kaiser roll with provolone, ranch, onions and bacon. My heart thanks me for now working almost 500 miles from the nearest Wawa.

OK, while we're on the topic of favorite adult sandwiches:

Red, based on those links, your ideal sandwich is between Reese Witherspoon and the MySpace home page. That's a special kind of kinky, man.
